Varnish 3.0 Beta 1 released

Varnish cache, or Varnish, is a high efficiency reverse Web caching server (reverse proxy server).
Varnish is currently being used in Norway’s largest newspaper Verdens Gang on. This version for the varnish cache 3.0 branch of the first beta version from version 2.1.0 has a branch on half-time.

Main improvements are:
* Preliminary streaming support, both on miss and on pass.
* Compression and uncompression support, including stiching together
compressed ESI fragments.
* Plugins (vmods)
* Much improved documentation
* Better default values for parameters
* Varnishncsa now has custom log format support
* Varnishlog, varnishncsa and varnishhist can now filter out records
that match multiple expressions.

Note: in addition, according to some users, and RPM packages will be invalid in RHEL5 system dependent problems.
